Step 1.

Grease and flour an 8-inch cake pan. Set the pan aside.

Step 2.

In the bowl of an electric mixer, combine 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips with 1 cup of all-purpose flour. Mix on low speed to combine.

Step 3.

Mix 1 cup of chocolate chips with 1 teaspoon of baking soda and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.

Step 4.

Add the softened butter to a small bowl and microwave for 15 seconds or until softened, stirring every 30 seconds until melted. Add the sugar to a large bowl and pour the melted butter over it.
