What Is Gourmia Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe?

It’s a mix that makes vanilla ice cream.  But, it has a secret ingredient that makes it taste like a rich chocolate mousse.  It’s amazing!  I have never had such good ice cream before, and I am so excited to be able to share the recipe with you.

In a food processor, grind the chocolate into a fine powder. I mixed the chocolate with some milk and used the above amount to make my ice cream.

In a mixing bowl, blend with your milk, egg yolks, and sugar until smooth.  If you want it thicker and richer, add some cornstarch to thicken.  If you want more mousse-like consistency, add some air using an immersion blender.

How To Make Gourmia Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe?

  • Prepare Time: 15 mins  (around 15 mins including freezing)
  • Cook Time: 10 mins
  • Freeze Time: 1 hour

Note

You’ll get more than the suggested serving amount so that you can freeze a whole batch at a time.  You’ll know it’s set when the ice cream is solid but can still “flavor” in the freezer. Refreeze any leftovers.

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup Hershey’s Cocoa (Or your favorite chocolate)
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cups milk

Special Equipment:

  • Food processor and immersion blender or regular blender.

Directions:

Step 1.

Before making the ice cream recipe, you need to make a paste of the chocolate.  Mix the chocolate with a little milk and stir until it becomes a fine powder.  Blend it in with the rest of your ingredients.

Step 2.

Whisk together your yolks and sugar until light in color.  Add them to the chocolate mixture along with the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth.  If you want more mousse-like ice cream, blend longer on low speed.

Step 3.

Lastly, pour it into an ice cream maker and follow the directions that came with it.  I recommend letting it chill overnight in the freezer after you are finished churning to get a super creamy consistency.

How Long Will it Take To prepare?
