Ingredients for Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Recipe

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Green food colouring (optional)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions:

Step 1. In a large saucepan, whisk together the heavy cream, milk, and sugar over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.

Step 2. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla and peppermint extracts. If desired, add a few drops of green food colouring to achieve the desired shade of green.

Step 3. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator until completely cool, at least 2 hours or overnight.

Step 4. Once the mixture is chilled, pour it into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Step 5. About 5 minutes before the ice cream is finished churning, add the chocolate chips and continue to churn until the ice cream is thick and the chocolate chips are evenly distributed.

Step 6. Transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 2 hours or until firm.

Step 7. When ready to serve, let the ice cream sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften before scooping. Enjoy!
