How to make What is Nestle Chocolate Cake?

  • Preparation Time: 5 Minutes
  • Cooking Time: 10 Minutes
  • Total Time: 15 Minutes
  • Servings: 4

  • 1 (1.41 ounce) Nestlé Dark Gourmet Chocolate Bar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil (you can also use melted butter or margarine instead)

Step 1.

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Lightly grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans; set aside.

Step 2.

Break up the chocolate bar into pieces, and place in a medium saucepan over low heat. Add the water; cover, and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat; stir in the baking powder until dissolved. Set aside to cool slightly.

Step 3.

In a large bowl, combine the eggs and oil. Beat with an electric mixer on medium-high speed for 2 minutes. Add the sugar; beat on medium speed until thick and no longer grainy, about 4 minutes.

Beat the chocolate mixture, then stir in the flour at low speed (do not over-mix). Pour batter into prepared cake pans; place in bottom third of oven; bake 10 to 12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Step 4.

Cool for 10 minutes in pans on wire racks; remove from pans to wire racks to cool completely. Ice with Chocolate Fudge Frosting as desired.
